Translating the impossible

Translating the Impossible is a collective translation project. It will use translation as a social space to produce the first French translation of an introduction to anarchism. Here, the text becomes a pretext for reflecting together on the issues arising from the act of translating, and on the questions raised by contemporary libertarian thought and practice. The translation will be produced around a series of public events bringing together professionals and amateur translators, artists, activists and editors.
Translating the Impossible est un projet de traduction collective. Il fera de la traduction un espace social afin de produire la première traduction française d’une introduction à l'anarchisme. Ici, le texte se fait prétexte pour réfléchir ensemble aux enjeux qui découlent de l’acte de traduire et aux questions soulevées par les pratiques et pensées libertaires contemporaines. La traduction sera produite autour d’une série d’événements publics faisant se rencontrer des traducteurices professionnel∙le∙s et amateurices, des artistes, des militant∙e∙s et des éditeureuses.
